We have captured the exotic taste of passion fruit and the refreshing lightness of orange in an exquisite black tea from Ceylon enriched with fragrant rose petals.
Rose & Passion is a tea with a surprisingly rich taste. The unmistakable aroma of Ceylon black tea is enriched with the sweet and intriguing flavor of passion fruit and with the sour and slightly bitter notes of orange peel. Hibiscus, rose hip and rose petals complete the incredibly harmonious bouquet, dominated by sweet and sour and flowery notes. Delicious both as hot and ice tea, you can taste it on its own or adding a spoonful of honey.
Passion fruit, also known with the name of maracuja, is the fruit of the Passiflora edulis, a plant native to Brazil and Paraguay In the 15th and 16th centuries, Christian missionaries in South America used the peculiar structure of the flowers to narrate episodes from the Gospel. The pointed leaves represent the Holy Lance, the ten petals represent the ten apostles who were faithful to Jesus, the calyx represents the Holy Grail. This is where its curious and cryptic name comes from.
