Marigold, also known as calendula, is an aromatic plant native to southern Europe. The scented flowers of Calendula officinalis have long yellow-to-orange petals rich in precious micronutrients: Vitamin A, flavonoids, carotenoids and a healing essential oil. Marigold flowers have depurative effects on the skin, can heal wounds and scars, they are natural anti-inflammatories and pain relievers. The name Marigold comes from the medieval custom of donating these beautiful golden-yellow flowers to tribute Virgin Mary.
